On Monday, July 11th at 7pm an exhibition of prints by Kristina Cepkenovic Karlsen and Anne Kristin Myrseth was open.
I have been researching on the brain and memory in the past few years. I use different media for the final work. In general my works open up a gap between art and science. My recent projects deal with the loss of memory through time passing, and finding a way to recover this forgotten memory back. My works are the reflection of my life experience through art. My main concern for working on brain and memory is because of the events that have happened to me in my life. I chose to live in Norway and built up a family here and somehow I became disconnected with my roots in my home country Serbia for about 14 years. Most of my memories of home have vanished, I research and discover this forgotten memories through artistic practice

Based on an existential being, I work artistically with echoes from the world I'm a part of and that I have been thrown into. I materializes images who have frozen to is in the moment. Pictures and words that refuse to move, words that have fled to me, through the skin in raindrops I thought was harmless. Word and images that make it possible to live and dream about the future. I will highlight human vulnerability, their emotions and interpersonal interactions, which sometimes is taboo and therefore often excluded from the public debate. Make visible aspects of a life lived, as a topic in the public debate in the community I am a part of.
Anne Kristin Myrseth
Kristina Cepkenovic Karlsen (1976) has studied in Pristina/Serbia from 1994-2000 and has been working as an artist since then. She has exhibited her works nationally and internationally, in solo and group exhibitions (Roros, Trondheim, Helsinki, Oslo, Ostersund, Steinkjer, Leksvik, Gracanica, Belgrade, Lodz, Krakow, Barcelona...). She is a member of Norske Grafikere (NG), Norske Billedkunstnere (NBK),Trondelag Billedkunstnere (TBK) and Serbian Fine Art Artists Association (ULUS). She has organized and participated in many art projects and workshops and has been teaching in Art schools at Rotvoll and Verket Kunstarena and Heimdal.
Anne Kristin Myrseth (1965) has studied at the Liverpool School of fine art and design (1988), at the Art Academy in Trondheim (1993) and specializes in arts education. She has exhibited her works nationally and internationally, in solo and group exhibitions. She is a member of Trondelag Visual Artists (TBK) and the Norwegian Visual Artists (NBK). She has participated in various art projects as a participant, project manager and curator and has been teaching in Trondheim.
