
GRYPHON - COMPETITION FOR THE BEST GRAPHIC DESIGN IN THE PREVIOUS TWO YEARS IN SERBIA, MONTENEGRO AND REPUBLIKA SRPSKA
GRAFICKI KOLEKTIV Gallery and the Printing House QUADRA, established and organized, in 1996, GRYPHON - biennial type competition for the best graphic design in Yugoslavia. The GRYPHON project - competition and exhibition - by valorizing the best artists' work, became unique and serious overview of the contemporary graphic design in Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska.
By promoting the most important artists and their work in the graphic design field, it also comes into the focus the universal range of the applied graphic arts, while the reputation and authority of the GRYPHON Award, as a serious recommendation for the artists, is affirmed at the international art scene as well.
The goal of the competition is to valorize the most important art work by the Yugoslavian graphic designers created within the previous two years.

THE CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
Works created in the period from January 1 to December 31 in last two years are to be submitted for the open competition.
The realized works are to be submitted in accordance with the open competition’s conditions in one or more categories (up to three works in a category) until April 10 of the current year.
The works in the “book and other publications”, “visual identity ”, “packing” and “securities” have to be realized in one of printing procedures in 100 or more copies (except for the billboards and fair presentations, where the project and an example of its use in space are submitted).
For the works in the category of “typographic letter” the project and an example of its use in an edition are submitted.
It is desirable for works to be submitted on a CD too.
The works in the categories “Film, Video, TV, Graphics” and “Web Design” have to be previously broadcast within a television programme, in cinemas, on Internet or as presentations.
The works are submitted on a compact disc, in the whole or in segments together with printed representative scenes.
You can take the application form at the gallery of Grafički Kolektiv, Obilićev venac 27, Belgrade. The works must be packed and protected in accordance with the rules. The works for the open competition are submitted in person or by mail.
THE RULES OF SELECTION AND JURY WORK
- the selection commission makes its choice among the entered works
- among the chosen works, the jury chooses the awarded works in three categories:
a) The Gryphon Award b) Acknowledgments -the Gryphon Award consists of: a sculpture, a diploma and a sum of money, and only one work is awarded -the Acknoledgments are valorized by a diploma
