THROUGH THE BINOCULARS OF THE GRAPHIC COLLECTIVE - MAPPING HISTORY

Slobodan Šijan

Slobodan Šijan is a charismatic authorial phenomenon whose personal creative vitality and activity in various media spheres testify to his work in new visual forms and versatile discourse on the domestic and international scene. As a graduate in the class of professor Ljubica Cuca Sokić and a undergraduate student at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, he had his debut exhibition of drawings and watercolors in the Graphic Collective Gallery in 1974 when his creative capacity was critically acclaimed. His decades long friendly relations with our gallery became more visible during the crucial event for the Graphic Collective - before moving out of our premises at Obilićev venac in the spring of 2018, Slobodan Šijan and Duško Petričić were the ones who opened the retrospective exhibition "Imprint of Time - Fragments from History".
